Really like the DCFD videos. Based on what I have seen from past videos I would have to say they are probably one of the top departments around in terms of tactics. My opinion of course. It looked like a good knock down just wish there was more of this video.

WOW
good to see a dept that lays in with fire showing. There was a sense of urgency on the fire ground too. Guys werent walking but moved at a quick pace. No hesitation on when and where to pull the line. They parked and immediately pulled a line and suited up.   A ladder was being thrown within about a minute from the engine arriving. Awesome. These guys are aggressive and know how to fight fire.
There was no hesitation. Everyone knew what there job was, without being told. Thats how a department should operate
Nice Work DC

Off the top.

1. Great to see them establish a water supply
2. Good job on laying out the preconnect
3. PPE was spot on!
4. Looks like the 2nd in was getting a ladder ready for any S&R on the second floor that might need a way in (or out)
5. Nozzle man hit the fire on the porch so as to not leave anything behind him burning and then went inside... perfect!

Looks like this crew is has "been there before". When I say that I mean that they are well drilled and experienced...

Great job DCFD!

I've never seen a DC video that didn't kick butt.

Speaking of DC, anyone seen these videos?  Great rescue footage on 1st 2 clips, 3rd is radio traffic.  IC has great command presence and calmness, as do all companies.

I'm not sure about all the details and such, but in DC/NoVa/and Southern MD they lay hose and stretch handlines for all reported box alarms. it doesnt matter if fire is showing or not. I think that this is an amazingly brilliant tactic. Not only are your companies proficient with their hose deployment, thru repitition it becomes muscle memory. That means when it's the real deal, which seems to be the case pretty often down there, they can remove a potential Charlie Foxtrot from the simple act of laying hose. Now I don't know if DC runs 3" or 4" supply, but my cousin works in Fairfax County, VA (DC Suburbs) and they run 4" because they have to drop it and pick it up so often.
