Fast Track for me was 4 months. You have to be certified by TCFP Firefighter basic or higher and TDH or whatever the hell it is now as an EMT Basic or higher. Ya know where they get ya......18 month freakin probie period !!! __________________ 76House |

Most Fast Track guys will tell you the "long way" is the "wrong way".
I think its the opposite. But to each their own. I passed the fast track to go the long way and I have no regrets.
Qualifications can be found here:

Don't worry, you can add $25.00 dollars for every 24 hour stool-pushin, er.. ambulance rotation. __________________ http://www.firehouse68.com |

Yes you have to make just barely above the poverty level to become HFD...Also, no side jobs while on probation.... __________________ FIR NA TINE FTM-PTB

And just think, without EMS we'd probably only be making 2/3rd's what we make now - AT BEST!
Maybe we need a survey thread to post starting pay (broken down by hour), and if EMS is worked in line with Fire.
I bet the results would be interesting.. __________________ http://www.firehouse68.com |

Just surprised, was looking to see close to $35-40,000 for starting. I'm sure that the long term the pay is better. How many years you got to put in there. And are you guys on a state or city retirement plan. __________________ I Graduated From The Real World Fire Academy, My Degree Is In Street Smarts |
